Use King to assist on an attack
Red moves first.
As shown in Diagram 1, Black is threathering to checkmate with R7+2. If Red plays C2-8, of course can resolve the check, however this is a weak move.
Black could launch his attack by deploying his horse and pawns. Black would has gained huge advantages if Red plays R2-8.
Then, what is the best move for Red?
Red K5=6! This is an excellent move! Red is threathering tp checkmate by playing P6+1
Black A6+5, the only move for Black to prevent Red P6+1
Red C9+3! Another good move, Red still want to play P6+1 to checkmate Black.
Black A5+4, to stop Red' King assit on Pawn's attack.
Red P6=7, get ready for P7+1 checkmate.
Black A4-5, only move....
