The beginning of 57 Cannon

Template

In the previous post, Black C2+1 defense strategy has gained huge advantages against Red's Central Cannon Center Pawn Advancement attack strategy.

After several attempts, Red has found the solution....there is 57 Cannon Opening. This is how 57 Cannon Opening begins.

  1. C2=5  H8+7    2. H2+3  P3+1    3. R1=2  R9=8    4. C8=7  …………

Red has found the effective move to attack Black! C8=7.
The Central which stays on File 5, and another cannon stays on File is called 57 Cannon Opening.

  4. …………  H2+3    5. R2+6  C2+1

Black still use back the same strategy C2+1

  6. H8+9  P7+1    7. R2-2  …………

At this points, Black has 4 main variations.
1) C8=9
2) H2+3
3) H3+4
4) E3+5

Variation #1:
Black C8=9, offer to exchange the chariot in order to minimize the pressure.

  7. …………  C8=9

  8. R2+5  H7-8    9. R9=8  R1=2   10. P7+1

After exchanged the chariot, Black's right horse was unprotected and became the target for Red.
C7+1 is the good move to gain the advantages. Red sure will gain a crossed river pawn.

Variation #2:
H3+2 to prevent Red play R9=8 to develop the chariot.

  7. …………  H3+2

  8. C5+4  …………

Once Black H3+2, Black's center pawn became the new target.

  8. …………  H7+5    9. C7=5

Red sure will gain back the piece and command the center line.

Red has gained advantage.

Variation #3:
Black H3+4, try to attack.

  7. …………  H3+4

  8. R9=8  R1=2    9. R8+5

Good move.
Black is difficult to handle this situation.

Red has gained advantage.

Variation #4:
Black E3+5, to consolidate his center line.

  7. …………  E3+5

  8. P3+1  …………

However, Black's left horse became the new target.

  8. …………  C2+1    9. P7+1  C2+1   10. R2-4

if Black P7+1, Red would P7+1. Black's right horse is under attack.
If Black P3+1, Red would C7+5 to capture Black's right horse.

Therefore, Red has gained the advantages.

Conclusion:
Red 57 Cannon Opening is a effective opening to counter-attack Black C2+1 defense strategy.
